The 2008 – 2009 year is coming to an end and it has been a year of excellence for our chapters, members, and division. We have accomplished so much this year that we as a whole are proud of the many successes we have achieved. This is just the beginning and we look forward to what our new incoming president Donna Mitchell CPS/CAP has in store for the division.

ANNUAL MEETING UPDATE
The 55th Georgia Division Annual Meeting was a great event. If you missed it, you missed the meeting of the year. The business section was very productive as the latest bylaws were voted on and approved. The new bylaws will be posted online under the members only section this week so that you can see the latest changes. The Omega ceremony left the members recalling their memories of the three members whom we lost this year. President Clayton CPS/CAP threw a recognition luncheon in which she expressed her thanks to those who served with her this year. And did I mention that the food was great? Well it was!!
The open house event was terrific. We had great food and lots of fun. I believe we started to date ourselves when the soul train line was awaken from its slumber. The members had a great time as they boogied down the line doing the bump and shuffle. And lets not forget the slide - yes all three versions. I am always amazed at how fast people run to the floor when they hear that music. I think next year we need a larger floor area, WOW!!!
The banquet was great but the presidents - both the outgoing, Demetrice Clayton CPS/CAP; incoming, Donna Mitchell CPS/CAP, gave two great speeches. There was laughter and excitement as we listened to what President-Elect Mitchell CPS/CAP had to say about her upcoming presidency. She has many great ideas about the organization here in Georgia this upcoming year. We can expect to see changes to Georgia Division which I am sure we all agree will be welcomed by the members.
The 2009 - 2010 Georgia Division board members are: President Donna Mitchell CPS/CAP, President-Elect Nina Hubbard CAP, Vice President Barbara Wiley CPS/CAP, Secretary Jenny Stewart CPS/CAP, and the new Treasurer is Valerie Carter CPS/CAP. We will post pictures of the the board within the next week.
COMMUNITY NEWS
- We recently had our annual meeting on June 12 - 14, 2009 and it was great! We will post pictures from our meeting soon.
